  • The data presented here involves percentage cover of plant species (excluding lichens), litter, deadwood, bare soil, rocks, gravel and water inside nine 20 m by 20 m plots that were subdivided into 100 2 m by 2 m subplots. The nine plots cover three vegetation subtypes (‘pure’ natural grassland, sparsely vegetated ‘rocky’ grassland, and wetland) in each of three valleys (Bardoney, Colle de Nivolet and Levionaz) in Gran Paradiso National Park (Italian Alps) between 2200 and 2700 meters a.s.l. The vegetation survey was conducted at the peak of the yearly vegetation developement during August 2015. The plots’ boundary lines were North-South and East-West aligned according to UTM coordinates. The GPS coordinates of the plots’ corner points are given in the reference system WGS 84.

  • Vegetational description of inner Venter-valley and outer Rofen-valley along an altitudinal gradient from 1695 m to 2865 m a.s.l. Vegetation records were made in plots according to minimum areal of Braun-Blanquet (1964) In sum, 229 vegetation records were made (one record=one plot). Also ecological indicator-values are given. Ten vegetation associations were recorded, altitude and aspect were the most important criteria for the determination of different vegetation types. GPS-data were taken from googlemaps, according to the study site given in the report (Diploma-project).

  • In 2012 permanent plots with size of one square meter were established, to occupy the vegetational developement of alpine grassland with Kobresia myosuroides, in aspects of climate change and long-term monitoring Data records are presented from 23.07.2012 to 30.08.2012 Data includes vegetational coverage in 43 different plots and pH-values of soils measured in 29 plots

  • Data contains parameters to show seedling-differences of grazed and ungrazed alpine and subalpine grasslands. Fences for grazing exclusion were established in 2000. Presented data confers to sampling in 2009. On permanent plots of different sites in Obergurgl, seedlings of different species were counted per plot, stand height was measured per plot and different coverage data was recorded. Additionally vegetation records were made on each sampled plot. Each site contains 6 permanent plots (3 Ex + 3 Co), one permanent plot has a size of 1 m². Ex = Exclosure site (ungrazed plots, plots within fences to exclosure grazing), Co = Control site (grazed plots, plots outside the fences). Data have been used for analysis and publications for the research center Berglandwirtschaft, Innsbruck.
